Our Integrated Curriculum
We offer a rich, multi-disciplinary curriculum that prepares children for future academic success through hands-on discovery and play.
Where Play is the Foundation for Lifelong Learning?
At The Children’s Center, we believe that the most impactful learning occurs when a child is fully engaged, naturally curious, and most importantly having fun. Our play-based program is thoughtfully designed for children aged 20 months through 5 years (as of September 1st of the enrollment year). Operating from September through mid-May, we offer flexible 2, 3, 4, and 5-day programs tailored to each age group, providing a warm and nurturing environment where every child feels empowered to explore the world around them.

Art
Our Art program focuses on process-oriented creativity. As our 4 day and Pre-K classes explore diverse mediums and textures, they refine their fine motor skills and visual-spatial awareness, which are critical building blocks for future academic sucess. Much like our music program, Art encourages problem-solving and persistence, allowing children to express their unique perspectives while preparing their hands for the rigors of writing.
Literacy

Our Literacy Program is dedicated to building the essential foundations for lifelong reading and writing success. Through an engaging, play-based approach, we integrate the four core pillars of early literacy: phonological awareness, oral language development, alphabet knowledge, and concepts of print. To ensure our Pre-K students are fully prepared for kindergarten, we utilize a premier selection of curricula, including Learning Dynamics, Learning Without Tears, Words Their Way, and Superkids. Students in our 4-day program benefit from specialized literacy classes twice weekly, while our Pre-K classrooms utilize small-group rotations to provide tailored instruction that meets each child's unique needs and developmental pace.
Math
The Children’s Center preschool math curriculum is designed to help children develop strong foundational math skills that will prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond. Utilizing the research-based Preschool Everyday Math, we introduce students to core concepts including number sense and operations, algebraic thinking, geometry, measurement, data analysis and probability. It is important to us to make preschool math fun and motivating for our students. Our math curriculum is taught using a variety of methods and activities, including hands-on exploration, and everyday play to make abstract concepts tangible. Students in our 4-day program attend a specialized math lab twice weekly, while our Pre-K classrooms employ small-group rotations to ensure each child receives personalized instruction tailored to their specific developmental pace.
Spanish
We introduce children to a second language early on starting with our 4 day program to foster global awareness and cognitive flexibility. Through an immersive blend of music, storytelling, and interactive conversation, our children develop foundational Spanish vocabulary.

Music
In music, we do so much more than sing! Every class enjoys music twice a week, using movement and rhythm to bridge the gap between creative expression and academic readiness. By exploring diverse musical concepts and instruments, children develop the auditory discrimination and bilateral coordination essential for success in literacy, writing, and math. Whether they are mastering beat awareness or experimenting with new instruments, they are building the creativity and social skills they need to thrive. Each week, our entire community joins together for a school-wide 'Sing Song'—the perfect intersection of music appreciation and meaningful child development.
Science
Our Pre-K science curriculum is built on a foundation of "hands-on discovery". Children are encouraged to ask "why" as they explore the natural world through guided experiments, observations, and investigating. By making predictions and observing results, they develop the critical thinking skills and persistence necessary for future STEM success.
Outdoor Play & Physical Development
We believe that the playground is an essential extension of the classroom. All students enjoy 30 minutes of daily outdoor discovery, while our extended-day Pre-K classes benefit from two dedicated play periods. Our nature-based playground is intentionally designed to foster gross motor skills, spatial awareness, and social negotiation. Whether navigating the sand, engineering structures, or engaging in collaborative games, children develop the physical coordination and self-confidence for the foundation of both their emotional growth and academic focus.
